Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou, the oldest of four siblings was born on the 8th of August 1976 in Beaumont Puy-de Domme. Audrey Tautou's parents, who have a doctor for teeth and teacher in a school, supported and encouraged her passion for acting as well as theatre. Her initial dream to become a master monkey was replaced by a desire to pursue a degree in theater and drama. Her rise to fame as an actress in her early years was rapid and accompanied by early success. Her career began in earnest in 1999 when she started acting professionally. After her studies, Tautou took part in the French talent scouting television programme Jeunes Premiers. Tautou was a student at her school at the Institut Catholique de Paris in Paris in her youth and was a student there from young age but has sworn off her Catholic upbringing. She now says she is not a Catholic. Along with her acting career she started a modeling career. Also, she is the spokesperson for L'Oreal Mont Blanc & Chanel and often called The Chanel Muse. Her photography is also a hobby and she has recently displayed her work in the Arles festival with the name Superficial. The work she produces is focused on fame in addition to popularity. Also, it features portraits of herself and special focus on journalists who have closely scrutinized Tautou following her rapid success following Amelie. Audrey Tautou shot to stardom as well as international recognition with her debut role as the lead in the film Le Fabuleux Destin de l'Amelie Poulain. Amelie received international acclai the box office and was recognized at award ceremonies across the globe. The film is still the top-grossing French language film to be released in the US. The film's success brought Tautou into a wide range of roles, ranging from British dramas such as Dirty Pretty Things by Stephen Knight and Jean Pierre Jeunet to Hollywood's The Da Vinci Code with Tom Hanks.
