April Lockhart
April Lockhart was born on July 4, 1995. When she was in the seventh grade, she started playing guitar and piano lessons, sparking her love for writing songs. In the seventh grade April started taking guitar and piano classes. The lessons sparked her passion to write songs. At the age of 14, April devoted a great deal of time to writing song ideas and practicing her musical skills. She started writing songs alongside her father and her dad in NY and LA within a short time. April also began incorporating additional relevant subjects into the song, which she called the Take my Hand song for some acquaintances, including peer pressure disabilities and teen suicide. Lockhart has her own following and also works as a lifestyle blogger at the well-known Ilia Clean Beauty brand. The disability she has is part of her identity, but it's not the entire picture. Because of this, her Instagram account does not shy away from her disabilities, yet it doesn't center around the issue neither. It's a message. The message? We each contain multitudes, that our physical and identity self aren't as they seem. Lockhart says in a video interview with Lockhart via video "I don't think that is what defines me. My goal is not to have an impact on disability, because I've many more things to contribute." It doesn't impact my daily life. I carry on my business as usual and have developed my own methods to adjust. The same is true for my life, and I think it's something that needs to be addressed. Self-acceptance is a lifelong marathon but Lockhart is a true inspiration for this aspect. Even so, Lockhart admits that she has had periods of feeling uneasy about her appearance, and the clothes which displayed her arms. She can wear whatever she wants, and she proudly shares photos of her wearing these clothes. The journey itself is what I don't know that you ever arrive she says of self-love. However, that is common for anyone that is prone to doubts. I believe having friends with you who understand you and can see your heart is really important because they'll be the people who remind you What are you concerned about?
